Delores Resendez Martinez

Delores Martinez, age 67, passed away on January 7, 2026. She was born on March 2, 1958, and raised in Colfax, California. She was a graduate of Colfax High School.

She was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Isabella Maldonado, and her father, Candelario Resendez and nephew Johnny Chavez.

In 1976, Delores married George Martinez. They shared 22 years of marriage and together raised three children: Renee Maldonado (Martinez), George Martinez, and Danny Martinez.

Delores is survived by her mother, Rosalie Resendez; her children Renee Maldonado and son-in-law Ramon, George Martinez, and Danny Martinez and daughter-in-law Desiree; and her grandchildren Xavier Maldonado, Mia Maldonado, Dominic Maldonado, Violet Martinez, and Seth Martinez.

She is also survived by her siblings Amelia Chavez, Stella Talamante, Louis Resendez, Susie Martinez, Carlos Resendez, Rosemary Miller and many nieces and nephews that she loved very much.

Delores valued the friendships she built throughout her life. She shared a lifelong bond with her best friend since elementary school, Ana Sanchez, who remained close to her until her passing-a friendship Delores truly treasured. She also shared nearly twenty years with her partner, Bill Lopez and the two remained friends until her passing. Delores had many special people in her life and truly valued each and every one of their friendships. She was a friend to all, and truly cared about everyone she met.

Delores will be lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her for her kindness, strength, and the warmth she brought into their lives. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and she will be deeply and forever missed.

Private services will be held in Colfax in the near future.
