Delores "Sandi" Salter

It is with deep love and profound sorrow we share the passing of our cherished mother, Delores Anne "Sandi" Lockhart Salter, who passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025.
She was the steady foundation of our family-a woman of quiet strength, endless devotion, and unwavering love. Through every joy and every challenge, she was the one who held us together. She never quit on the people she loved and gave her life to nurturing, protecting, and guiding her family with grace and determination. She was our dear Mom, Nana, Neenaw, Aunt San, San, Sandi; however you said her name, she was love.
She was born on February 22,1943 to Harold "Monkey" and Hautence Lockhart. A lifetime resident of Conroe, she Graduated Conroe High School in 1961. She began her married life a few days later, married in her parents' home to Robert Salter. Together they had 3 children. She built a life of service and volunteering for anything her children were involved in. Whether it was school, softball, football, or FFA, she was the first in line to help. She worked at Sacred Heart Catholic School and loved the children she worked with everyday. When her children grew older, she worked for Conroe Radiology and later retired from Sadler Clinic. She was also an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Daughters for 55 years.
In her retired years, she spent her time planting flowers, keeping her grandkids, visiting and having special dinners with friends, and supporting all her family in any way she could. She loved being with everyone and was always up for a good time.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved sister, Donna Stewart. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Danny and Julie Salter, Amy Salter and Dmitri Kawszan, & Holly and Jeff Budde. Her grandchildren Hayden Salter (Darrean), Kendall Salter (Mitzi), Lindsey Budde, Emily Palacios, and Taylor Budde. Her nephew, who she loved like a son, Travis Nuchia and wife Teri. Special great nieces and nephews she loved and considered as bonus grandchildren; Cody, Kade, Allison and Emily Nuchia. 6 great grandchildren Brayson, Brynley, Braeley, Chris, Alan, and Jaxon Salter. Nephew Chad Salter and wife Gwen, who she loved spending time and the holidays with, and their children, her great nieces and nephews she adored, Lauren (Adam) Burgason, Daniel (Bella) Cunningham, Andrew and Ella Salter.
Sandi has a group of friends she shared a lifetime of friendship with and had so much love for them too. She also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends. All will miss her dearly.
