Delores Spires

Delores Lea Spires, age 77, of Osage Beach, Missouri passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Mercy Springfield Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

Delores was born October 20, 1948, in Rockford, Illinois, to George James and Dorothy Emma (Parkins) Tierney.

Delores was united in marriage to David Spires on June 21, 1970, in Sterling, Illinois. They shared 49 years of love and laughter until his passing.

Delores was the kind of woman who found joy in the simple, beautiful rituals of life. All season long, she loved making wreaths-carefully weaving together branches, flowers, and ribbons into little circles of welcome that reflected her warmth and creativity. Crafting wasn't just a hobby; it was her way of pouring love into the world, the same way she did when she curled up with a good book, savoring quiet moments and meaningful stories. But above all else, her family was her everything. Every project she made, every page she read, every smile she shared, was rooted in the deep love she carried for them, and her greatest happiness was simply being surrounded by the people she cherished most.

Delores was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Those who loved and knew her will treasure the memories, and she will be deeply missed.

Delores is survived by her daughters Dena Lea Spires Dittman and husband James of Waynesville, Missouri, and Sonya Lynn Spires Simpson and husband George of Mexico, Missouri; her grandchildren Jacob Sebren (Mehri Habibi) of Osage Beach, Missouri, George Simpson III, Autumm Simpson, Charolette Simpson, and Gordon Simpson; her great grandchildren Daniel Cortes, David Cortes, Sebastain Cortes, Amelia Sebren; other relatives and many friends.

Delores was preceded in death by her husband David Spires; and her parents George and Dorothy Tierney.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Community Christian Church in Camdenton, Missouri. The family will welcome friends for a visitation at the church from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to services.

Interment will be held at a later at Lake Memorial Gardens in Osage Beach, Missouri.
