Deloris Elizabeth Griggs, born April 15, 1943 to Earnest and Dorotha Pinkal Johnson, in Cambridge, Nebraska, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on December 17, 2025.
Deloris had six siblings, Aaron Johnson, Richard Johnson, Jerry Johnson, Margaret Johnson, Dorothy Johnson, and Robin Johnson.
She married Albert Alvin Griggs on May 6, 1972 in Placerville, CA. They later had their daughter Sherry and together they built a loving family with Albert’s two children, Laura and Kenneth.
She found immense pride in raising her daughter and cherishing her grandchildren.
Deloris will be remembered for her love and passion, serving in her church and community. She brought joy to others with her thoughtfulness, compassion, and joy for giving. Her warmth and love will forever be felt from the beautiful quilts she made for her family and loved ones.
Deloris leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her and will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, and unwavering strength. Her legacy endures in the lives she touched and the memories she created.
She is survived by her children, Sherry (Cory) Swallow, Laura (Jim) Bantz, Kenneth (Kristine) Griggs; her grandchildren, Alden, Logan (Rachel), Kloe, Ryan, Scott, Shaunna, Darla (Paul), Bryon, David, Karin (Trent), and Sandra; great-grandchildren Ava, Alex, Kyle, Diana, Thadeous, Ashley, Jason, Sebastian, Athena, and Samantha; and great-great-grandchildren Cash, Toby, and Anna.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary located at 3333 West 5600 South, Roy, UT. A gathering to visit with the family will be held before the celebration at 10:00 a.m. at the mortuary.
Deloris will be laid to rest with her loving husband Albert at the Westwood Hills Memorial Park in Placerville, CA at a later date.
