Deloris Rowe Obituary

Deloris (Terry) Rowe Elizabeth City - Deloris Terry Rowe, age 91, a cherished member of the Elizabeth City community, passed away peacefully at her home on December 25, 2025. She was born on January 7, 1934, in Aulander, NC, to the late Johnnie Carl Terry and Lily Maude Farmer Terry Lantz, and was the widow of Francis Alexander Rowe, her cherished husband of 74 years. Deloris lived a life devoted to her family, faith, and community. A dedicated homemaker, she nurtured her family with unwavering love and care. She was a committed member of Cann Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she found spiritual fulfillment and connection with her community.

Her commitment to service extended beyond her home and church. Deloris was a valued member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #44, where she was a Past Worthy Matron and served as past treasurer for 40 years. She was also a member of the Degree of Pocahontas spanning over 40 years, a testament to her enduring spirit of service and loyalty. Additionally, for many years she delivered Meals on Wheels throughout the community.

Deloris leaves behind a loving family who will continue to cherish her memory: her daughter, Paula R. Warlick of Lewisville, NC, and her two sons, Johnnie Rowe (Sandra) of Elizabeth City, NC, and Alex Rowe (Betsy) of Camden, NC. Her legacy also lives on through her five grandchildren, Justin Warlick (Ashley), April Turner (Brad), Joshua Rowe (Rachel), Amy Boykin, and Dianna Rowe (Luke); and her seven great-grandchildren, Kamryn Rowe, Maddyx Turner, Roddick Turner, Carson Rowe, Grace Boykin, Joanah Warlick, and Charlie Warlick. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents; her devoted husband; her brother, Reggie Terry; and her son-in-law, Roger Warlick.

A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Twiford Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Jeff Sockwell officiating. Eastern Star Rights will be conducted by O.E.S. Chapter #44. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, and at other times at the residence. A private family interment will follow at West Lawn Cemetery. The service will be live streamed on her obituary page at www.twifordfh.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cann Memorial Presbyterian Church, 311 W. Main Street, Elizabeth City, NC 27909, or to a charity of one's choice, reflecting the generous spirit in which Deloris lived her life.

Her gentle presence, kind heart, and unwavering dedication to those she loved will be deeply missed.
