GILBERTSVILLE

Ronald L. Rowe, 82, of Gilbertsville, passed away at his home on Monday, February 16, 2026. Born on November 1, 1943, in Gilbertsville, he was the son of the late James and Wilma (Blankley) Rowe. A lifelong resident of the area, Ronald was proud to call Gilbertsville his home.

On April 28, 1973, he married Susan Gaughan in Gilbertsville. Together they built a life rooted in love, dedication, and family. Their marriage of more than five decades was a testament to commitment and quiet devotion.

Ronald was a quiet and simple man who believed in hard work and taking care of what mattered most. He was devoted to his work throughout his life and took great pride in providing for his family. He found satisfaction in maintaining his home and property, always ensuring things were neat, orderly, and well cared for. He appreciated the value of routine, responsibility, and a job well done.

Though soft-spoken, Ronald's love for his family was steady and unwavering. He was a devoted husband and a proud father, finding his greatest joy in the simple moments spent at home. He valued family above all else and demonstrated his love through his reliability, strength, and quiet presence.

Ronald is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Rowe; his son, Donald Rowe; his brother, Jerry (Pat) Rowe; his sisters, Jean Smith, Linda D. Rowe, Cheryl (Bob) Loomis, and Deb (Don) Miller; and his sisters-in-law, Evelyn Rowe, Cece Rowe, Beverly Rowe, Linda E. Rowe, and Mary Gaughan. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Lester, John, Leon, Lyle, Allen (Joyce), and Robert (Joanne).

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Ronald's memory to the Gilbertsville Fire Department, PO Box 72, Gilbertsville, NY 13776, or the Gilbertsville Emergency Squad, PO Box 181, Gilbertsville, NY 13776.
