MORRIS

John E. Kristofik, 83, of Morris, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026. He was born on July 10, 1942, in Oneonta, the son of the late John and Mabel (Eustice) Kristofik.

Following his graduation from high school, John proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1961 to 1964. During his service, he earned a Certificate of Advanced Individual Military Police Training while stationed in Albuquerque, New Mexico, serving as a Military Policeman. His time in the Army was a source of great pride throughout his life.

On July 1, 1967, John married the love of his life, Patricia (Benjamin) Kristofik, in Horseheads, NY. Together they built a loving home and shared many wonderful years devoted to family.

John spent most of his professional life as a car salesman with the Benedict Corporation in Norwich, a career he genuinely enjoyed. He had a natural ability to connect with people, and his friendly personality and honesty earned him many loyal customers and lasting friendships.

Outside of work, John lived an active life. He had a lifelong interest in woodworking and took pride in building the family home with his own hands. He loved the outdoors and spent time gardening and tending to his plants. He was a member of a recumbent bike group and rode trails along the East Coast. He also enjoyed watching and feeding birds. In his younger years, he was an avid hunter and cross-country skier.

Above all, John was a devoted family man. Outgoing and warmhearted, he treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride. His steady presence, sense of humor, and deep love for his family will be dearly missed.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; his daughters, Kim (Mark) Chambers, and their children, Kristofer and Lydia; and Audra (Terence) Clarke, and their children, Lauren, Lochlain, and Cormac; his brothers, Douglas (Jane) Kristofik and Terry Kristofik; and his sisters, Connie Kristofik (Bob Taylor) and Charlene Bell (Dennis); his brother-in-law, Jack Benjamin and sister-in-law's Sue and Myra Benjamin, along with many nieces and nephews.

Donations in memory of John may be made to Helios Care, 297 River Street Service Road, Oneonta, NY 13820.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during calling hours on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 1-3pm at the Johnston & Stanimer Funeral Home in Morris.
