Deloris Alberta "Gibson" Smith

Deloris Alberta (Gibson) Smith, 97, of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, while a resident at Christ the King Manor. Deloris was born on August 16, 1928, to the late Robert G. and Ruby A. (Fox) Gibson, in Dubois, PA. Deloris graduated from Reynoldsville High School and attended Dubois Business College. Deloris married Russell Albert Smith on December 23, 1950, in Reynoldsville, PA; he preceded her in passing. She worked at the First National Bank of Reynoldsville. She and her husband Russell, owned and operated Sugar Hill Limestone Company and Farmer Smith's Greenhouse. Deloris was a member of the Reynoldsville Lutheran Church. She was a fantastic wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. Deloris was an avid reader and enjoyed following politics. She loved the Clarion River and spending time on the West Coast of Florida. She enjoyed time with her family and her dogs, drinking wine and eating charcuterie. Deloris is survived by one daughter: Maryjo Pigott of Boca Grande, FL and Bedminster, NJ; one brother: David Gibson of Placida, FL and Erie, PA; and two grandchildren: Noah William Shaffer of San Diego, CA, and Erik Russell Shaffer of NYC, NY. In addition to her husband and parents, Deloris is preceded in passing by three brothers: Robert, Edwin, and Irvin Gibson. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Reynoldsville Lutheran Church, 329 Jackson St., Reynoldsville, PA 15851 or to Habitat for Humanity, 106 S Jefferson St., Kittanning, PA 16201.
