Delphia Patton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Uht Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Jan. 31, 2026.
Delphia Jean Patton, affectionately known as Jean, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, in Westland, Michigan, at the age of 92. She was born on August 16, 1933, in Gray, Kentucky.

Jean was a woman of quiet strength and resilience. In her 40s, she returned to school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse while raising four teenagers and working part-time - a testament to her determination and strong work ethic. Her perseverance left a lasting impact on her family and all who knew her.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Debra (Fred) Tanton and Norma (Timothy) Siemasz; her son, Larry Patton; her granddaughter, Elizabeth Patton; and her grandson, Johnathan Siemasz. She is also fondly remembered by her several nieces and nephews. Jean loved her canine companion, Emma, who was a constant source of comfort and joy, sharing in the quiet moments of her daily life.

Jean was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Jean Patton; her father, David Edwards; her mother, Dossie Woods Edwards; and her brothers, William Clifford Edwards and David Edwards Jr.

Jean enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, crossword puzzles, and quiet moments at home. Though soft-spoken, her playful sense of humor left a lasting impression on those around her. Her love for her family, especially her grandchildren, was evident in the care she gave so freely.

Jean will be deeply missed, but her kindness, strength, and love will live on through the many lives she touched.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and burial will be held in Gray, Kentucky, in the Spring.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to your favorite animal rescue or to the Michigan Humane Society in honor of Jean's love for animals.
