Nemeth, Delphine A. Nemeth, 88, of Villa Hills, Kentucky, passed away after a long illness on Tuesday, November 11,2025. Nemeth was the chief Anesthetist at UK's Chandler Medical Center for over 20 years and during that time she established a winning tradition as the first head coach for UK's Women's Varsity Volleyball team, serving for 6 years from 1976-82. Under her tutelage, UK won 3 consecutive SEC titles
Had numerous All-SEC most valuable players and ALL-SEC team players, and she earned SEC coach of the year honors twice.
Nemeth was a elite AAU player and coach of the South Bend Challengers. as well as. a prominent member of the USA World Games, Pan American games team in 66-67 and the 1968 USA Olympic Volleyball team (silver medalist).
She was born in South Bend,In, to Francis and Alice Nemeth (nee Wrobeleski ) on August 19, 1937. She has donated her body to Alzheimer's research. A Celebration of life is being planned for Summer 26,
