So sorry to hear about your loss. I missed the obit in the paper, and would have attended services had I known. Delphine and Ray were lovely neighbors, and the parents of wonderful children. It was a pleasure to know all of you, and I pray that you will be comforted knowing that God rewards good people like your mom and dad.

Anita, Bonnie, Mary Diane, and Mark, I am so sorry for your loss and pray that God may assuage your grief. Your mother was truly a saint on earth - a kind, genuine, caring woman. I will cherish fond memories of those formative years on Swift Lane in Naperville, and of the time we spent with your family.

Anita, Bonnie, Mary Diane and Mark:

I am saddened to hear about the loss of your mom. Ray and Del were kind, caring people and we truly miss having them as neighbors. They were probably the two most pleasant, cheerful people that I have known, and I think I came away from every interaction with a smile. Take solace in the fact that your mom is now with your dad, and cherish your memories. On another note, I still have your old boat, and I think of you all whenever we take a ride. Let's keep in touch, and please take me up on a boat ride if you get to the area.

We have so many fond memories of the years that we spent together in Naperville. Anita was a favorite babysitter. I think I still have a set of sheets that Bonnie gave me after we hosted her once. Your mom was always so kind and gentle. I'm sorry to hear that she couldn't enjoy her later years. Rest in peace dear Del.

Anita, Bonnie, Mary Diane and Mark, I am so sorry about your Mom. I have such pleasant memories of spending time with your family as I was growing up. It touched my heart when I read about how Delphine will be remembered for her gentle spirit, the twinkle in her eye and her little wink. I can still picture that little wink! Please know that I'm sending my love and most sincere sympathy. R7J3P

To Delphine's Family

Your mom and dad resided on Diamond shores just down the road from Joe and I. We both belonged to St. Pius in fact a couple times when Mom was alone we took her to Church. Mom and I had many conversations discussing our children and many other things; She was one fine woman and a very caring person. I know it wasn't easy for her to leave the lake as Joe and I have had to do it was a great place. Your Mom and Dad had a great marriage and once Dad was gone Mom just never seemed to bounce back from his death. I'm so glad we neighbors and able to have some great times together. I'll keep her in my prayers . Joe and I now live in Fishers Indiana joe has had three bouts of cancer so the lake was just to much so we moved closer to our children by the way all three now live in the area after all these years. HI Bonnie Hi Lucas.

prayers joe and janice

My Godmother Delphine was one of those very rare people who you could go for years without seeing, but who always remained strong in your memory. Her caring smile always lit up the room, and made me feel warm and welcome both in my childhood days and as an adult. There is no doubt we were blessed to have God share her with us. Our deepest condolences to Anita, Bonnie, Mary Diane, Mark and the rest of the family.

Del was a special cousin. Always caring and loving. I babysat for her children some when I was in high school. My mother (Gladys) was her Godmother.

My Godmother. I will always remember the good times at our family gatherings. Such a sweet, caring person, just like Grandma (Saint Mary). You will be missed. I love you and enjoy paradise with our family.

I can remember interviewing Mrs. Plencner for a book I was writing, The Great Child. The book was based on my experiences as a teacher, and how I found students were raised by their parents to become polite, friendly, positive, and productive young adults through consistent tough love. Mary Diane and Mark certainly fit that profile. I am proud and grateful to know the Plencner family. I am very sorry to hear of the loss of your mother.
