Delphine Martha Wrubel

Delphine Martha Wrubel passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the age of 89.
She was born on May 9, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan, to Louis and Martha (Warchuck) Pelot. Delphine graduated from Sweetest Heart of Mary Catholic High School in 1954 and went on to earn a bookkeeping diploma from Burroughs Business College. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Commercial Carriers.
On October 6, 1956, she married DuWayne Wrubel in Detroit at Holy Name of Jesus. After beginning her family and raising her children, she returned to the workforce as an assistant photographer for Great Lakes Photo. She was very active in her church as a member of the Altar Society and a Eucharistic Minister. She took great pride in her education, career, and the life she built for her family. Delphine enjoyed the simple joys of life: playing cards, casino trips, cheering on the Tigers, bowling, polka
dancing, camping, and boating. She never missed a moment to be with her grandchildren or to connect with friends. Her feisty energy and generosity touched everyone she met. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her children: Mark (Dawn) Wrubel, Karen (Michael) Chilcote, and Kimberly (Jason) Kik; and her grandchildren: Alyssa Wrubel, Aaron Wrubel, McKenzie (Kiron) O'Brien, Madeleine (Bradley Pischea) Chilcote, Hannah Chilcote, Grant Kik, and Matthew Kik. She is also survived by her loving companion, Donald Staton, sisters-in-law, Dolores "Sugar" Pilot and Marlene Zarra; nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Delphine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, DuWayne; her brother, Harvey Pilot; and her parents.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a rosary from 7:00-7:30 p.m., at Tiffany-Young & Hauss Funeral Home, Modetz Chapel, 73919 Fulton Street, Armada.
A funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. with instate beginning at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Mystical Rose Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Rochester. Family and friends are invited to gather there immediately following the Mass.
Memorial contributions would be appreciated to American Heart Association or Holy Family Parish in Memphis.
