Delsia Unique "Nene" Spurlock, 61, received rest from this world of trouble at her home in Galveston, Texas, on Sunday, October 5, 2025.

"Nene" as she was affectionately known as, was born in Crockett, Texas, to the late Jettie Ree Spurlock. She was educated in Galveston public school district. Delsia was known as one of the fastest runners on the track. She spent many years caring for others while employed as a home health aide. Delsia was a homebody who enjoyed a good mystery movie.

You would often catch her sitting on her front porch "people watching"... If you know, you know!

Nene is preceded in death by her mother Jettie Ree Spurlock; sister,Sally Spurlock; niece, Lashonda Smith; aunt, Perlina McClain; Fannie Durough; cousins Oscar Spurlock, Lonnie D Spurlock and long-time friend Edward Noel Brown. She leaves to cherish her love, laughter, and the warmth of her smile,her two children, daughter, Jessica Spurlock and son, Jamaine Spurlock; grandchildren, Jamar Ross, Janyia Spurlock, Journey Spurlock, & Jamaine Spurlock, Jr.; sister, Sheila Spurlock; brother, Bobby Lee Spurlock, a host of nieces , nephews, god grandchildren & extended family and friends.
