Demetra Bell Obituary

Born Friday, September 7, 1928, in Gibson County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late James Walker and the late Dovie Stone Walker. Mrs. Bell was a retired inspector for All-Wear Manufacturing where she worked for twenty-five years. She was a member of the former Nebo Church of Christ.
Graveside services for Mrs. Bell will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Yorkville Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Mr. Tim Fuqua. Visitation for Mrs. Bell will be held on Friday from 10:30 AM until 11:00 AM at Yorkville Cemetery.
He is survived by one son, James Edward Bell (Cindy) of Newbern, Tennessee; one daughter, Patsy Hicks (Hugh) of Yorkville, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Mimi Bell Cherry (Greg) and Kevin H. Hicks (Jennifer) and three great-grandchildren Colton D. Hicks, Mac Hicks and Destiny Hicks.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jute" Bell; one brother, Calvin Walker and one sister, May Drumright.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial contributions be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959.
