Demone D. Devaux was born on April 7, 1989, in Anderson County, South Carolina to Mr. Brian Turman and Ms. Nancy Devaux. On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, Demone slipped away from those who loved him most, leaving an eternal void in their hearts. Demone, or "Zek" as he was affectionately called, was raised in the communities of Anderson, South Carolina and educated in local schools as well; prior to the conclusion of his educational journey, he was a student at T.L. Hanna High School. Subsequent to his educational experience, he spent several years independently employed, often working in the lawncare field. Demone became a number of things throughout the course of his life, but that which he was most proud of, was becoming a father to his two daughters! They were the apple of his eye, and there was nothing he would not do for them. He was a lover of all things basketball-related (particularly the Charlotte Hornets), and even won several championships playing with recreational teams in the area. Aside from his children and basketball, we'll remember him for the way he loved music and singing, and how he unselfishly gave all of himself to those in need. Demone always said what he meant, and meant what he said; often ending the more blunt of his statements with a loving, "I ain't mean no harm!" He left an impact on everyone he met, and was well-known throughout Anderson; for this reason we pray, and ask God for the strength we need to adapt to life without the sweet and humble man that we all loved so much.
Demone was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Ms. Louise Devaux and Ms. Gladys Turman; and his brothers, Mr. Tavarius Turman and Mr. Lashawn Turman.
Those left behind to continue his legacy of love are his daughters, Miss Aiyana Devaux and Miss Ashyree Arnold both of Anderson, South Carolina; his parents, Mr. Brian Turman and Ms. Nancy J. Devaux; and his grandfather, Mr. Demon Turman. Also left behind are his siblings: Quentin Devaux, Dominique Jones, Demontrey Turman, Tavoria Turman, Star Pickens, Denisha Turman, Tori Turman, Sacred Turman, Mayunna Turman, Alexius Miller, Sharica Belton, Tiffany Belton, and Terrance Martin; his godmothers, Ms. Nikki Hatten and Ms. Dena Simmons; as well as a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and close relatives and friends, all of whom will need your prayers in the coming days, weeks, months, and even years as they learn to cope with such a terrible loss.
