Dena L. Barrett

Dena L. Barrett passed away on February 2nd, 2026 at the age of 49.

Predeceased by her sisters, Dionna Marie Cook and Donielle Wilde.

Survived by children, Isaac (Bailey) Barrett, Clara L. Barrett; life partner, Simeon Hendrickson; parents, Donald and Denise Cook; siblings, Donald Cook, Jr., Delaina (Chuck) Norton, Darlene (Steven) Steffen, Dane (Danielle) Cook, Dionna Grace (Emily Jordan) Cook; brother-in-law, Keith Wilde; several nieces and nephews; beloved dog Buddha.

Dena will be remembered for her beautiful smile and compassionate, creative soul. Fun and free-spirited from a young age, she challenged expectations and gently pushed against the limits set before her. In doing so, she helped others learn, grow, and see the world with a broader view. Her presence made people better, and her absence will be deeply felt. She will be remembered for her grace, her warmth, her insight, and her many beautiful artistic contributions. Her free spirit was elevated through her elegant expression as a ballerina. Her kindness and generosity were expressed through her work for many years as a ballet teacher and professionally as a Sr. Administrative Assistant for the Labor & Delivery Department at Unity Hospital in Greece. She loved travel, audiobooks, and all kinds of music. She will be missed dearly by all who were lucky enough to come in touch with the light she shared.

A Funeral Mass will be held At St. Leo's Church (110 Old Hojack Lane, Hilton) February 10, 2026 at 11am. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to mass at 10am. Following the mass, starting at 1 PM there will be a Celebration of Life with lunch held at Millenium Lodge, Greece Canal Park, Rochester, NY 14626.
