Denice O'Brien Gonyea

Denice O'Brien Gonyea died on September 12th 2025.

She was the eldest daughter of Joseph A. O'Brien and Mary B O'Brien. Her family lived in Longmeadow, MA. They spent as much time as possible during summers at their cottage on Cape Cod.

Denice attended Ursuline Academy in Springfield, MA.

Upon graduation Denice was a student at St. Joseph The Provider in Rutland VT.

After graduating with a degree in Elementary Education Denice was offered a teaching position at Clarendon Elementary School. It was during that time she earned her masters degree.

Denice had served on the court diversion program and on the Rutland Town School Board.

In her free time she enjoyed drawing and always looked forward to a challenging game of scrabble.

Family time was cherished.

She married David F. Gonyea Sr. in 1987. They were married at the Summit Lodge in Killington Vt. Later they had their marriage blessed at Immaculate Heart Of Mary church in Rutland.

David and Denice have a son Gregory J. Gonyea (Kelsie)
Her two stepsons are David F Gonyea junior (Sable) and Christopher M. Gonyea (Jenice).
She has two sisters: Nancy N.Thomas (Hugh) and Margaret M. London. Her nephew is Aaron C London.

She has 2 step grandchildren: Sydney Gonyea and Laurel Gonyea.
