Denis R. Swoveland

Muncie – Denis Swoveland, 72, passed away after an extended illness, peacefully in his sleep at home on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
He was one of five children born to Clinton Robert and Ola Catherine Swoveland.
Denis was a 1970 graduate of Yorktown High School, where he met his future wife, Toni L. Martzall.
Dennis was a Delaware County Reserve Officer and worked security for Marsh Supermarkets for twenty years.
Denis enjoyed debating over politics the years and also loved his cats through the years. He was also an avid Los Angeles Dodgers fan.
Survivors include his four children, Jason Swoveland (Christina), Jodi Barker (Scott), Jarrod Swoveland (Katrina) and Jessica Priddy (Dustin); his grandchildren, Jackie, Jeanna, Brittany, Janell, Myah, Lacy, Clint, Jonathon, Jerry, Peyton, Jake, Brianna, Wyatt, Isabelle, Garrett and Sadie; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bobby Jay Swoveland and Randy Swoveland (Kay); sister, Roxy Parker; along with his lifelong friends, Bob and Anita Wordinger.
Denis was preceded in death by his wife of thirty-one years, Toni Swoveland in 2001; a sister, Lana; and his parents.
Cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Hilltop Pavillion, 1590 N. 900 West, Daleville, IN. 47334.
