Betty F. Swoveland age 87, of Uniopolis passed away Monday, September 8 at Otterbein-Cridersville. She was born September 7, 1938 in New Hope Arkansas to the late Raymon Carl and Ivy Patry (Simmons) Neal. She married Thomas Jay Swoveland, and he preceded her in death March 12, 2025.
Betty enjoyed traveling in the camper with tom and the grandkids, favorite place included Washington DC for the cherry blossoms and Tennessee. She loved watching The Price is Right and her soap operas back in the day. She was a very giving person, never turning away a boy or girl scout with their sales at the door.
Survivors include 2 sons: Michael Swoveland of Uniopolis and Jeffery (Tiffany) Swoveland of Wapak; grandchildren: Zachary & Derrick Swoveland, and Heidi (John) Michael; great grandchildren Sofia Swoveland and Tyler, Lily and Bella Michael; a brother Shelby Neal of Gas City, IN and a sister Shirley Ellis of Geneva, IN.
She was preceded in death by a grandson Michael Alan Swoveland and a brother Alex Neal.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 15 from 5 to 7 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at St. Matthew Cemetery with Chaplain Glory Geib officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Benevolent Care Fund at Otterbein-Cridersville and online condolences may be shared at BayliffAndSon.com
