Denise Bender Barrett

Denise Bender Barrett, 69, of Washington, formerly of Burgettstown, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025, in Donnell House, Washington. She was born February 8, 1956, in Follansbee, W.Va., a daughter of the late Earl Thomas Bender and Grace Chilensky Bender. Denise was a graduate of Burgettstown High School and had obtained an associate's degree. She had worked as a licensed practical nurse at the Veterans Administration and Washington Health System in pediatrics. Denise was Catholic by faith. She loved going to the beach, winters in Florida, going on cruises and dogs. She enjoyed playing Bingo and watching Hallmark movies. On November 3, 1979, she married Donald Barrett, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Donald Earl Barrett, Matthew James Barrett and Thomas John Barrett; a daughter, Amanda Marie Barrett; a brother, Thomas (Melinda) Bender; two sisters, Mary Jo (Charles) Cox, and Lisa (Alex) Fiederczyk; her mother-in-law, Laura Adams; and many nieces, nephews, friends and family. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 24.
