James Melvin Chappell, 62, of Burgettstown; Hanover Twp., passed away on Thursday October 16, 2025 in his home.
He was born on January 22, 1963 in the Washington Hospital a son of the Norman Chappell, Sr. and Alice Scott Chappell.
A 1981 graduate of the Burgettstown Area High School, he and his late brother Norman owned Chappell’s Masonry. Jim enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting and most of all spending time with his sons and family.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his three sons James Arthur Chappell and wife Jessie of Chester, WV, Devon Chappell of Wheeling, WV and Mason Chappell, at home; a grandson Christian Chappell; sister Shawna Chappell (William Ferrelli) of Hanover Twp.; his former wife Jo Ellen Cook Chappell; nephew Scott Chappell and wife Donna; niece Ashley Chappell; and a great nephew Charlie Chappell.
Jim was preceded in death by his brother Norman Chappell, Jr. (surviving wife Cheryl).
Services will be held privately.
