She was born on March 3, 1951, to Randolph and Bertha Oliver in Trenton, NJ. Denise attended Trenton Central High School and graduated in 1968.
She married Douglas Leon Battle, Jr. on April 13,1971 and this union was blessed with two children, Nichole Chyrisse Battle-Walker and Douglas Leon Battle, III.
She worked as a Secretary and retired from the Trenton Board of Education in 2005.
She loved watching crime movies and playing her computer games. But mostly loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Randolph and Bertha Oliver; sisters, Randrina Oliver, Gamael Peterson, and Victoria Oliver.
Denise is survived by her children, Nichole Battle-Walker (Jerome) and Douglas Battle (Shere); grandchildren, Dominique Battle, Douglas L. Battle IV, Dion Battle, Daquise Green, Amani Godbolt, Christopher Battle and Ar'Reonna Battle; great-grandchildren, Yazir Battle, Dionni, Gia, Madison and Amahvi Green; siblings, Detri Oliver, Adrienne Oliver, Anya Battle, Kazi Oliver and Gwendolyn Grier; special friend, Russell Grier and many nieces, nephews, and cousins and friends,
