Obituary lovingly written by her son

Denise C. Davis, 63, of Pierce City, Missouri passed away at her home on Saturday, October 25, 2025.

Denise was born on Tuesday, October 2, 1962, in Tallahassee, Florida to the union of LT Col Schertz and Nellie White.

Denise grew up with her four siblings in Monterey, California. On May 25, 1983, she was united in marriage to James Davis, after meeting him on Rammstein Airbase in Germany. Together they shared thirty-one years of wonderful memories until his passing on October 8, 2014. To this union one son was born James Davis II in December of 1985 while living in Bayside, New York.

Denise was a loving and supportive wife and mother. She was a kind soul that always found time to help others. May it have been spending time with those that needed a shoulder to cry on, offering a couch to sleep on, or money to afford a meal, even if she was on her last few dollars herself. She also had a big heart for the neighborhood cats, never wanting to see a single cat go hungry and unloved. Denise was a deep lover of horror, those who knew would know that she spent most of her time watching horror movies, no matter how bad the film may have been.

Denise is survived by her son, James Davis, II. Her siblings are Diane Kaelin, Donna Alford, Debbie Harvey and Don Schertz. Denise's wishes were to ensure that those that loved her continued to love each other and keep "good Vibes" Her celebration of life will be announced later. Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website www.housh-goodwinfuneral.com. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.

Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie, Missouri.
