Denise Lucille Doriot passed away on August 26, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. She was born July 10, 1962 in Hillsdale, Michigan to Richard and Karen (Edinger) Fether. Denise was a graduate of Waldron High School, class of 1981. Denise married Veryl Doriot on March 30, 1991.

Denise Doriot, a cherished daughter, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Family was the heart of Denise's world. She never missed calling family for birthdays, singing "Happy Birthday" to everyone-her voice, filled with joy for your big day. She loved cheering on her kids, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews at their many various sporting events. You could often hear her cheering above the crowd. And she especially cherished calling and sharing updates on her grandkids' ball games, offering lively, heartfelt play-by-play reports that kept everyone connected.

Denise had a lifelong love for games, especially Upwords, where her sharp wit and enthusiasm made her an especially happy-and genuinely gleeful-winner. And she won far more than she lost. Her love of games extended to game shows, where her favorite was The Price Is Right. Denise also enjoyed hobbies such as hook-a-rug and word puzzles. She always looked forward to picking up walnuts every fall.

Her sweet tooth was legendary. She never passed up a scoop of ice cream, a handful of Peanut M&M's, or a Nutty Buddy wafer bar.

She loved her Detroit Tigers, cheering on her team with pride and joy with every win.

Denise's life was a beautiful reflection of her deep love for the Lord and her church community at Lake View United Brethren Church for the past 40 years. Denise cherished her time volunteering with Awana and Vacation Bible School, where she shared her joy, faith, and kindness with countless children. She was also involved in Women's Bible Study, as well as the Christmas Choir program each winter. She especially made sure to share her faith with her own children, reading daily devotions at bedtime and reading God's Word with them. Denise was a generous soul who deeply cared for the needs of others and was a faithful prayer warrior, lifting up others in love.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Veryl Doriot; their daughter, Jennifer (Kevin) Phillips of Goshen; mother, Karen Fether; grandchildren, Aiden, Collin, and Braxton Williams, Owen Phillips; brother, Eric (Dee) Fether of Napoleon; along with extended family and friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Fether; son, Shawn Williams; infant sister, Julie Fether; sister, Kathy Lockwood.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Marry Funeral Home in Hudson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation held an hour prior to the service at the Marry Funeral Home, Hudson. Burial to follow at Waldron Cemetery.
