In Loving Memory of Denise Ann Duddie
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Denise Ann (Pengue) Duddie, who left us on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the age of 73.
Born on August 7, 1951, in Bridgeport, CT, Denise was the beloved child of Orten L. Pengue and Marie (Hogan) Pengue. From an early age, she had an adventurous spirit and quick wit that touched everyone who knew her. That was especially true with the love of her life John. They met as teenagers and married soon after, John knowing that she was one of a kind and he only one for him.
Denise was a devoted spouse to John, a loving parent to John III, Amy, Carri and Jessica. She loved her many grandchildren fiercely and cherished every moment with them, whether it was laughter and hugs or setting them straight when needed.
Denise's life was filled with love, laughter, and moments that will forever be treasured. Whether it was Sunday dinners, inside jokes, or spending time in the garden with her poodles, Denise had a way of making every moment special. She loved the holidays and had to have the family together for egg coloring, pumpkin carving and cookie making. She has forever instilled beautiful traditions in her children and grandchildren that will be passed on forever.
She spent her career in service to others working in private home health care to ensure those who needed help received the best care possible.
Denise is survived by her husband John Duddie Jr., children John Duddie III, wife Amy, Amy (Duddie) Sylvestre, husband Rich, Carri Duddie and Jessica Duddie, husband Zach; her beautiful grandchildren Angelina, Jared, Kyle, Lily, Justin, Caden, Anthony, Jacob, Bella, Mia, Courtney, Kaitlyn and Griffin along with 5 great-grandchildren, her sisters Sandy and Maire, her brother Kevin, numerous nieces and nephews and her best friend Hedy who will carry her love and legacy forward. She was preceded in death by her parents Orten and Marie, her brother Orten Jr., her sister Pamela, and her in-laws John and Rose, whom we trust have welcomed her with open arms.
A memorial mass will be held at a time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St.Jude.org in Denise's honor.
Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find comfort in knowing that Denise's love, kindness, and laughter will live on in the stories we tell and the memories we hold dear.
Forever loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
