Denise Nelligan Obituary
Denise Nelligan, 85, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026. She was born on Sept. 17, 1940, to Joseph and Elaine Moorhead in Chicago.
Denise is survived by her children: Jack (Stacey) Nelligan, Katie (Chris) Cook, Michael (Mary) Nelligan, Timothy (Rachel) Nelligan, Maureen (Tom) Fischer; grandchildren, Jamie (Zach), John "Jack", Ness, Emily (Eric), Colleen (Garrick), Bridget, Ava, Rhys, Drew, James, Patrick, Anna, Mae, Ellie; great-grandson, Luca; and sister, Erin (Richard) Bosch.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Nelligan; siblings, Joseph Moorhead, Michael Moorhead, Alanna McKee, Sheila Moorhead; and granddaughter, Megan Elaine Fischer.
Denise was her family's biggest fan and could be found cheering from the sidelines at any of their various sporting events. She also loved gardening, books and movies, and shopping (and she could never pass up a good bargain). Memories of Denise will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Visitation with Denise's family will take place from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23, at the Starks and Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 220 Church St., St. Joseph. Denise will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery in St. Joseph.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to either The Michael J. Fox Foundation or The Curious Kids' Museum.

So sorry to hear the loss of Denise. She was a very special woman when she was with us at Provision Living/Story Point. We are all going to miss her Kindness. Rest In Peace Denise. Prayers for Denise family.
