Denise Roberson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brookside Funeral Home and Crematory (Yakima) - Moxee on Sep. 27, 2024.
Denise Laureen Roberson, 61, of Yakima, WA, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and a child of God, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born in Anchorage, Alaska, the youngest of four, and moved to Yakima at the tender age of 8 with her family. Denise graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1982.
Faith and family were her passions. She enjoyed God's glory in beaches and flowers, both evident in her home and her surroundings; she loved God, evident in her words and actions, and in her never-ending belief that He created us for His purpose. Denise lived her life believing she would be reunited with Him when He called her home, which we feel He did all too soon.
She's survived by her husband of twenty years, Brian Roberson, her son, Cody Day and his wife, Lindsay, and her mother, Audre Day, all of Yakima, Washington, as well as her sisters, Cathleen Hahn of Anchorage, Alaska and Carole Markland-Solosabal of Sahuarita, Arizona, her step-children, Amber Roberson and her daughter, Autum, Arianna Roberson and Nathanial Roberson, many cousins, nieces and nephews of Washington, Alaska, and Arizona, and many, many friends. Her father, Melvin Day, pre-deceased her in 2011, as did her brother, Steve Day, in 1991.
Viewing will be held at Shaw & Sons Funeral Home, 201 N 2nd Street, Yakima, between the hours of 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., Sunday, October 6, 2024; her funeral will also be at Shaw & Sons Funeral Home, on Monday, October 7 at 10 a.m. with a graveside service to follow at Terrace Heights Memorial Park, 3001 Terrace Heights Drive, Yakima. Following the graveside service the family welcomes family and friends to Denise and Brian's home for time to share stories and love, and refreshments, address and directions available on request.
There will be a balloon release concluding the graveside service. A number of balloons will be provided but please feel free to bring more. The more balloons, the merrier! There will be sharpie's available to write a note to Denise on the balloon before releasing, if you wish!
