Denise Ann Silva, born on May 22, 1964, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on February 6, 2026, at the University of Chicago Center for Care and Discovery. Her battle with lymphoma over the past two years showcased her selflessness, resilience, and indomitable spirit. Denise's journey through chemotherapy and radiation treatments was marked by a determination that epitomized her courageous nature. Tragically, during a routine treatment session, she suffered a cardiac arrest, leading to her untimely passing later that evening.
Denise dedicated 41 years of her life to Trace Services, culminating in her position as Director of Sales and Marketing. Throughout her career, she forged lifelong connections with her customers, many of whom witnessed the stages of her life as a devoted mother. Denise was known for her larger-than-life attitude and her willingness to speak her mind, traits that endeared her to those who knew her.
An alumnus of St. Bede the Venerable, where she graduated in 1978, and Queen of Peace, class of 1982, her education served as a foundation for her personal and professional endeavors. Denise was a remarkable individual, often described as a wonder-woman—selfless, beautiful in spirit, and independent. Her radiant personality and strength shone brightly in all aspects of her life.
Denise’s life was filled with cherished memories, particularly those spent with her family. She enjoyed bike riding and camping with her daughter Julianna and her nieces and nephews when they were younger. A devoted fan of Chicago sports, she found joy in cheering for her teams, sharing her passion with those around her.
Among her proudest accomplishments, Julianna stood as her greatest source of pride, reflecting the love and dedication she poured into motherhood. Denise is survived by her daughter Julianna; her parents Dan and Jane; her sister Jennifer; brother-in-law Davis; brother John; sisters-in-law Irene; nieces Danielle, Sophia, and Carmen; and nephews Ryan and Matthew. She is preceded in death by her nephew Charlie.
Denise’s vibrant spirit and unwavering strength will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. A prayer service will be held on February 11, 2026, at Kurtz Memorial Chapel Ltd in New Lenox, Illinois, memorial visitation gathering will be from 3:00 PM to 9:00PM, Prayer Service at 7:30 PM. Her legacy of love, courage, and connection will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have her in their lives. A Celebration of Life gathering to be at a later date.
