Dennie Louise DeWitt, 80, passed away peacefully September 15, 2025, at River Bend Assisted Living in Great Bend, Kansas. She was born November 5, 1944, in Great Bend to Dennis & Margaret (O'Brien) Short. She married Lewis J. DeWitt November 17, 1962, in Great Bend. He preceded her in death on December 2, 2013, after over 51 years of blessed marriage. Dennie was then united in marriage to Robert W. Moos July 7, 2021, in Great Bend.

After Dennie and Lewis were married, they lived in Hutchinson and Lyons for a year before moving to Great Bend in 1963. She worked for Montgomery Wards until they closed in 1968. She then went to work for TG&Y when it opened in 1968 until it closed in 1988. She became employed at the Barton County Clerk's office in 1988 until she retired in 2008. Dennie and Lewis raised four beautiful children and relied on the Lord for their needs. Her favorite titles were Mom, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Her love stretched to many nieces and nephews, sisters and brother, in laws, and many friends made in her lifetime.

She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and Altar Society. She loved her coworker lunches with the "lunch bunch". She would keep in touch with her classmates and reveled in the time they could fellowship together. She was a faithful friend, carrying friendships with Hilbert and Phyllis Herman and Claudia and Denis Hertel for over forty years, eating together on Friday evenings for years.

Survivors include her husband, Robert W. Moos; son, Darin DeWitt and his significant other Christy Huslig of Great Bend; daughter, Lindsey Ensley and her husband Scott of Great Bend, stepsons, James and Tom Moos; stepdaughters, Tracey McDonald and Peggy Haag; sisters, Rosella Urban, Nancy Horning (Duane), and Donna Knuppel (Lee); brother, Randal Short (Gayla); grandchildren, Jeremy Cordre, Ryan Cordre (Megan), Meranda Wente (Dason), Rebecca Merritt (Eric), Blake Skolaut (Hailey), Greta Miller (Brenden), Drew DeWitt (Deanna), Blaine Ensley, Marlie Ensley, Micah Yellowwolf (Tana), Mason Yellowwolf (Mallory); great grandchildren, Carter Camp, Lynden Merritt, Elden Merritt, Grayden Merritt, Evelyn Skolaut, Ella Skolaut, Coleson Miller, Scottie Miller, Emerlie Miller, Charlee Yellowwolf, Hayden Yellowwolf, Lilly Trimmer, Madison Ayala, and Brynn Ayala. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis; daughters, Julia Cordre, Jane L. Skolaut; grandson, Dade Cannon.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025, at St. Rose Of Lima Catholic Church with Father Prakash Kola presiding. Burial will follow at Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 18, with an Altar Society Rosary at 4:00 p.m., family greeting at 6:00 p.m., and Vigil with memory sharing at 7:00 p.m., all at Bryant Funeral Home.
