Dennis R. Ball

Dennis R. Ball, 84, of Bemus Point, comfortably passed away in his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. He was born in Jamestown on August 15, 1941, to the late Robert Dennis and Nancy Carlson Ball.
Dennis spent over three decades as a machine operator and supervisor with MRC Bearings, which morphed into TRW and now SKF. Personal time allowed Dennis to uphold his joys outdoors. A life member of the Big Tree Sportsman's Club as well as belonging to the Busti Trap, Dennis was an avid skeet and trap shooter. Hunting through every season made him the very happiest, albeit securing three deer on opening day one year to halt the chase.
The Vikings Ingjald Lodge knew Dennis as a longstanding member. He cherished motorcycling through country roads; most importantly, though, Dennis appreciated time spent with his family and, as an animal lover, every one of his dogs.
Dennis' memory will live on through his wife, Gloria Nickerson Ball, who he married in 1960 and shared 65 loving years; his children, Robert Ball, Sherri (Dana) Cummings, and Tracy A. Ball; his grandchildren, Megan Cummings, Molly Cummings, Devan Cummings, Heather Ball, and Zayne Ball; his great grandchildren, Gracie and Willow; his sister, Kathleen Stewart; as well as his nieces, Julie, Jody, and Laura.
Besides his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his brother, Roger A. Ball.
In keeping with Dennis' wishes, no services or visitation will be held.
