Dennis Basil Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Maryland Cremation Services on Dec. 11, 2025.
Dennis Wayne Basil (Baz), born April 16, 1963, in Annapolis, Maryland, passed away on December 7, 2025. Dennis lived a life defined by devotion to his family, his work, and his friends. He was an avid Ravens fan, the friend who was always there when you needed him, loyal to the core. Though often rough around the edges, he carried a remarkably soft heart that showed in the quiet, steadfast ways he cared for others. He was also a lot of fun to be around, known for his quick humor and easy laugh.
For more than 30 years, Dennis worked as a foreman for TBN Associates, where he oversaw hundreds of projects in the DC area. He was a member of Asbestos Workers Local #24.
Dennis's love of sports began early. He played little league lacrosse for PAL and participated in one of the early Maryland State Little League Championship games at Homewood Field. As a midfielder, he became known for his blisteringly fast outside shot, reaching nearly 100 miles per hour by the time he began high school. He went on to continue his athletic career at the collegiate level, playing lacrosse at UMBC before becoming an All-American at Anne Arundel Community College.
Later in life, Dennis faced serious challenges, and he met them with the same determination that characterized so much of who he was. He showed remarkable resilience, navigating adversity with strength and an unwavering will to keep moving forward.
Dennis was the devoted son of Barbara and Willie Basil, who predeceased him. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Teri and Jim Flippen, his niece and nephew, Courtney and Beau, and his lifelong friends.
Those who knew Dennis will remember his sense of humor, his quiet strength, and the fierce loyalty he extended to the people closest to him. His presence enriched the lives of his family, friends, and colleagues, and his memory will continue to do so.
No service is planned at this time.
