Dennis W. Bergstrom

Dennis W. Bergstrom, 80 years of age and resident of Delavan, Wisconsin, passed away on February 5, 2025, at Mercy Health System in Janesville.
Dennis was born in Minnesota on March 20, 1944, to the late William N. and Ruth E. (Weigel) Bergstrom. He graduated from The University of Minnesota, and also did graduate work at Uppsala University in Sweden. In 1979, he was united in marriage to Susan E. Novy.
In addition to his studies, Dennis was a proud and accomplished veteran. He served his country for 29 years, doing a tour in Vietnam (1st division), and was awarded various service medals. He went on to work for the United States Department of Veterans Affairs for over 35 years. This position enabled him to travel to many places, taking on various service roles. He eventually retired as a decorated Major.
Dennis loved fast cars, animals, spending time outdoors, and history, particularly that Viking culture. He was a head-strong man, and while "he wasn't always right, he was always sure".
Survived by his wife Susan E. Bergstrom; children Kristin (Scott) Stein, Erica (Andrew) Cipriano, and Linnea Bergstrom; grandchildren Johnathon and Elinore; siblings Peter Bergstrom, Ruthann (Michael) McCullough, and Steven Bergstrom; as well as other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruth Bergstrom.
