Dennis John Birchard, 75, of St. Petersburg, FL unexpectedly passed away peacefully in his home July 14, 2025. Born and raised in Walled Lake, Michigan and graduated Walled Lake Central High School in1967, he then enlisted in the army and was stationed at Fort George G Meade in Fort Meade, Maryland. After his service, he moved to the white sand beaches of St. Pete and, while also exploring other parts of the country and world, made this place his home.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Lillian and his siblings, Pamela, Daniel and Paula; as well as Anna. He is survived by his younger siblings, Denise (Gary), Donald (Beate), Patrice (Anthony), Diane (Mark), Dean, Delene (John) and Darcene (Giuliano), his children, Kristen (Christian), Dennis (Kristin), Pamela (Tom) and Kimberly and seven grandchildren: Eliana, Aurelia, Isabelle, Addison, Philip, Dennis and Amias. His additional family extends to Lori, Karen, Liz, Allie and her son Jackson. Dennis was proud to come from a large and lively family and had an even larger, exuberant heart. He loved spending his time with his work family as well, spending most of his career working with Caladesi Construction.

He loved fishing, golfing, bowling, playing bocce ball and softball, woodworking, dancing, schmeging out, the Michigan Wolverines and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Rays.

Dennis was a very sensitive, gregarious and honorable man. He was sociable, welcoming and giving. He made every experience his own and created beautiful memories. He truly touched everyone he encountered from all walks of life. His big, bright spirit will live on through all who knew him. He will always be everyone's schlubin or schlecknoid, isn't that right, gerbeetz?

Dennis' memorial service will be Saturday August 9th, arrival at 10am and service at 10:30am at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home. 2201 Dr MLK St N in St. Petersburg, FL. All are welcome.
