It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis Raymond Bonczyk, who left this world peacefully on January 25, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on March 30, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, Dennis was a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend whose presence in our lives will be profoundly missed.
Dennis dedicated 53 years of his life as the Service Manager for Parkside Lanes Bowling Center in Aurora, Illinois. It was here where he met the love of his life, Stephanie Bonczyk. They were united in marriage for 38 wonderful years, building a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Together, they raised a beautiful daughter, Rachel Denise Arnold, who along with her husband, TJ, brought immense joy to Dennis's life.
Dennis was a man of many passions. He was a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs, always cheering for his favorite player, Ryne "Ryno" Sandberg. His favorite place to be was Wrigley Field, where he spent countless games with his daughter Rachel. You could often find Dennis re-watching Field of Dreams or any number of Clint Eastwood movies. He found joy in attending car shows and was proud to own several Mustangs throughout his life, including his prized 1971 red Mach 1. A highlight of his life was participating in the 50-Year Mustang Celebration, where he and Rachel had the exhilarating opportunity to drive on the track at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Dennis's love extended beyond his immediate family. He is survived by his parents, Ray and Shirley Bonczyk, step-daughter Alicia Boutwell, his sisters Darlene Fish and Debbie (Michael) Reitz, and sisters-in-law Robbin (Roy) Garza, Dianne (Roger) Servin, and Jeanine Priest. He was a beloved uncle to numerous nephews and nieces who adored him. He is also remembered fondly by his calico cat, Callie, who was a constant companion in his later years. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Jack Fish and sister-in-law Theresa Kirby, both of whom he held dear.
Throughout his life, Dennis was known for his quick wit, sharp mind, and mechanical brilliance. Those who knew him best know that beneath his sometimes tough exterior was a heart of gold and a man who would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need.
In this time of sorrow, we invite all who knew Dennis to reflect on the joyful moments they shared with him and to carry forward his legacy of love, laughter, and deep appreciation for family and friends. Dennis Raymond Bonczyk will forever remain in our hearts.
