Dennis Brost Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 6, 2026.
Dennis A. Brost, age 81, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, with his daughters at his side.

Dennis was born on March 27, 1944, in Minneapolis to Curtis Brost and Mildred Proser. He attended St. Charles Catholic School and Marshall High School, graduating in 1962.

Dennis spent his career working for the railroad, beginning with Great Northern, which later became Burlington Northern. He was proud of his work and known for his strong work ethic and reliability throughout his many years of service. After retirement, Dennis enjoyed delivering flowers for local flower shops-where he always left smiles on the faces of others.

Those who knew Dennis will remember him as kind, soft-spoken, hardworking, humorous, and incredibly witty. He never spoke ill of anyone and was deeply loyal to his family and friends. Denny had a remarkable memory and a deep knowledge of history, sports, and music, and he truly loved music. He cherished time spent with family-especially on Sequence game night, was an avid sports fan, crossword puzzle enthusiast, enjoyed playing tennis, and especially loved going on outings with his partner, Sandy.

Dennis is survived by his devoted daughters, Wendy (David) Miskowiec and Theresa (Bill) Wilson; his loving partner, Sandy Accola; his cherished grandchildren, Christopher (Maritza) Miskowiec, Leah (Daniel) Reimers, Thomas Miskowiec, Billy Wilson, and Clara Wilson; his treasured great-grandchildren, Ariana Miskowiec and Daniel Reimers Jr.; his loyal brothers, Jerry (partner Dotty) and Bobby (partner Mary) Brost; his favorite niece, Jackie Larson; his nephews, Tom Larson and Michael Brost; along with many other loving family members and longtime friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Brost and Mildred Proser; his sister, Jane Larson-Royer; his brother-in-law, Robert Larson; his nephew, Daniel Larson; and his son-in-law, Richard Saxe.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in St. Anthony. Visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass. A private family interment will take place at a later date.

Dennis will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
