Dennis Julian Brown
August 7, 1933 - October 8, 2025
Dennis Julian Brown passed away to his heavenly home at home with his family around him at the age of 92.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Paul Brown Sr. and Amy Ada Parks Brown; Brother, Joseph Paul Brown Jr. "JP" and his wife, Martha; sister, Anna Lou Brown Miller, and her husband, Dale; and his granddaughter, Amber Nicole Sliger.
He survived by the love of his life, Barbara Ann Johnson Brown. They just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in August. Daughters, Denise Brown Grant (David), Patricia Ann Brown Garvich (Tim); grandchildren, Bradford James Sliger (Debra), Christy Ja'nise Sliger Millrany; great grandchildren, Elijah James Sliger, Abigail Lynn Sliger, Celina Ann Sliger; niece, Kathy Brown Ownby (Randall); several great and great great nieces and nephews; step grandchildren, Angel Hatcher, Heather Gilbert, Justin Garvich, Brenton Garvich, with several great and great great step grandchildren.
Dennis and Barbara were married on August 12, 1955, shortly after he was called up to the Army, where he served from 1955 to 1961. He then went to work at Combustion Engineering, where he retired after 41 years of service.
Dennis was an active deacon and a member of the Clingan Ridge Baptist Church since 2003. They were members of the XYZ senior club. Dennis was also a member of the "Romeo club" of men from local churches, who meet weekly for food, prayer, and fellowship.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to Hospice of Chattanooga for their excellent care.
A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 at 8:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home - The Ridge Sanctuary, with Pastor Bradford James Sliger officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm prior to the service.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 11:00 am at Lebanon Cemetery.
