Dennis R. Brunner, 83, of Pittsville died the evening of Friday, March 27, 2026 at the Marshfield Medical Center.

A funeral service for Dennis will be held on Monday, April 6 at 11am at the Buchanan/Rembs Funeral Home in Pittsville with Pastor Wanda Veldman officiating. Burial will follow in Babcock Cemetery. The family welcomes relatives and friends for a time of visitation 9am until service time at the funeral home.

Dennis was born August 31, 1942 in Wisconsin Rapids to Gerhardt and Opal (Faivre) Brunner. He had attended schools in Nekoosa, graduating in 1960 from Alexander High School there. Dennis was united in marriage to the former Miss Elaine Frost July 30, 1966 at the United Church of Christ in Pittsville.

Dennis worked at the Nekoosa mill over 40 years, but was a farmer at heart. He enjoyed taking care of his farm, deer hunting, 4-wheeling, and watching westerns. He proudly served in the National Guard from 1964 to 1970, was member of the Veedum Moravian Church, and was a member on the Town of Cary Board.

Dennis is survived by his wife of almost 60 years: Elaine; his son Daniel (Carrie) Brunner of Waupaca, the late Mark (Sharon surviving) Brunner of Waupaca; and grandchildren: Miranda (Dayton) Bell, and Alex and Emma Brunner. He is further survived by his beloved cat Sophie.

He was preceded in death by his son Mark in 2014, his parents, and his sister Sally.
