Dennis Samuel Bryant, 68, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully at his home on February 17, 2026. Born on July 6, 1957, in Bladen County, Dennis was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose warmth and spirit touched the lives of many.
Dennis was the son of the late Dennis Maxton Bryant and Mattie Dowless Bryant. He grew up in a loving family and carried the cherished memories of his parents with him throughout his life. Beyond his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers and one sister, each of whom he held dear to his heart.
A hardworking and honest man, Dennis was known for his ability to bring joy and laughter to those around him. He had a vibrant personality and was affectionately known as the life of the party. His love for fellowship was evident in every gathering, where his sense of humor and good nature created an atmosphere of happiness.
Dennis was an avid hunter and took pride in being the President of the Twisted Hickory Hunting Club. His passion extended to gardening and working in his yard, where he found peace and fulfillment. These hobbies not only provided him with joy but also served as a way for him to connect with nature and share his love for the outdoors with family and friends.
Dennis leaves behind his wife, Betty Bryant of the home; son, Lee Samuel Bryant and wife Ann Marie; daughter, Dianna Packer and husband Robert of Dublin; eight grandchildren: Bobby, Chase, Lexy, Johnathan, Justin, Jordan, Angel, and Shelby; adopted grandchildren: Kelly and Mason, along with his eight great-grandchildren, who were a source of immense pride and joy in his life. Additionally, he had a special bond with his caretaker, Alexis Rabon, whose compassion was greatly valued during his later years.
The family will receive friends from 7-9pm on Thursday, February 19th at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A graveside service will be held at 4pm on Friday, February 20th in the Bladen Memorial Gardens in Elizabethtown.
