Dennis J Burton

Dennis J. Burton was called home to heaven on February 12, 2026 at the age of 82.

Dennis was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Diane Burton; his parents; and his two brothers, Richard and Dean. While his family grieves deeply, they take comfort in knowing he is reunited with Diane and his loved ones in the presence of his Lord and Savior. His mind is restored, his body healed, and his spirit at peace.

He was a devoted father to Steve Burton (Tia) and Laura Trapp (Christian), and an extraordinary grandfather to Reese, Brayden, Ethan and Logan. Being "Grandpa" was one of his greatest honors. Whether fishing, going to the movies or playing four square in the driveway, he cherished every moment with them. His love for his family was evident.

Dennis devoted many years of his professional life to the security business, helping local businesses protect what mattered most to them. He was known for his integrity, reliability and strong work ethic. He proudly served as an Army reservist, carrying that same sense of duty and steadiness into every chapter of his life.

Beyond his career, Dennis was a man of creativity. A talented photographer, he owned his own photography business in the 1980s and had several articles published in photography publications. He had a gifted eye for capturing moments, whether through a camera lens or through the written word.

He found some of his greatest joy outdoors, fishing with his son, spending summers in Wisconsin's Northwoods with family and simply soaking in time together. He was a loyal fan of his hometown teams and rarely missed a chance to cheer on the Green Bay Packers or the Milwaukee Brewers.

Dennis will be remembered most for his sense of humor and his steady presence. He had a way of making people laugh at just the right moment and calming a room when things felt overwhelming. When times were tough, he was the quiet strength others leaned on.

The family would like to extend their deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and staff at Elizabeth Residence in New Berlin and Legacy Hospice for their unwavering support, compassion and love shown to Dennis throughout this journey. Their kindness, dignity of care and steady presence brought comfort not only to Dennis but to his entire family. We are forever grateful for the extraordinary care they provided.

Though he will be missed beyond words, his family finds comfort in knowing his suffering has ended and that he is whole again, reunited with Diane and surrounded by eternal peace.
