Dennis Eugene Conner, 65, of Abbyville, died December 20, 2021, at his home. He was born April 26, 1956, in Hutchinson, to Wayne E. and Twyla L. (Davis) Conner.
Dennis graduated from Haven High School. He attended Central Kansas Area Vo-Tech for auto mechanics and later attended HCC and graduated from Pittsburg State University, where he majored in Education.
Dennis worked as a Parts Specialist at Rose Motor Supply in Hutchinson for 30 years. He was an ASE Master Automotive Technician for over 45 years. Dennis was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Abbyville Booster Club, Pretty Prairie Saddle Club, and board member of Kansas Pony of the Americas Club. He also served as a councilman for the city of Partridge for 6 years and was leader of the Reno County 4-H Horse Project for 11 years. Dennis' hobbies were his horses, cows, and riding his motorcycle. His greatest joy in life was activities with his family.
On April 23, 1982, Dennis married Donna Conard Lubbers, in Newton. They shared 39 years of marriage.
He is survived by: his wife, Donna of the home; children, Mandy Conner of Sedgwick, Jason Lubbers of Wichita, Susan Berg of Wichita; grandchildren, Raistlin Tucker and Ben Conner; and sister, Gwen Wadell (Bill) of Joplin, MO.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Elliott Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m., with family present from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to Reno County 4-H, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
