Dennis Clayton Curtis
April 26th 1951 - May 26th 2025
Big Dennis passed away in his home Monday, May 26th.
Dennis was born to Clayton George and Vonda Lee on April 26th 1951 in Vernal, Utah. He was the first of 4 children.
He diligently served an LDS mission from June 1970 to June 1972 in Southern Germany. He was branch president while serving as a missionary in Hof.
Education and career
Dennis went to Utah Technical College in Provo, Utah with his best friend, Jerry Holfeltz. Where he completed his certification for mechanics.
He went to work at Dowell in 1976, later known as Schlumberger, for 35 years. In his years with Schlumberger he trained his fair share of youngsters, bringing up the next generation.
When retirement came along he couldn't sit still and the call of the truck was too much. He came out of retirement and went to work for 8-ball trucking.
Family
Jaralee and Dennis got married on July 26th 1973 in the Provo, Utah Temple. They welcomed Cory into the family and very soon after they welcomed Casey as well. They were later divorced in 1981.
Tina and Dennis got married on December 20th 1982 in Vernal, Utah. Little Dennis (Bud) and Kelsy later Joined family. They were all later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on December 20th 1993.
On July 3rd 2002 Rachael and Dennis were married in Vernal, Utah where he gained 4 bonus children. Celisa (Cody), Neil, Beverly(Josh), and Shelby(Garrett). Dennis brought them into his heart and raised them as his own.
He is survived by:
•Siblings (3)- Sandy (Rocky), Donnie (Marilyn), Karen (Don).
•Children(8)- Cory (Kristie), Casey (Veronica) Dennis (Tina), Kelsy (Matt), Celisa (Cody), Neil, Beverly (Josh), Shelby (Garrett).
•Grandchildren(20)- Ethan, Emma, Crystal, Ashley (Carlos), Kelly, Dakota, Ciera, Kyler, Brooks, Tristan, Treyvin, Evelynn, a baby boy due this August, Bailee, Kanyon, Hadlee, Arthur, Revan, Kyla, Nora.
•Great-Grandchildren- (7)
He is preceded in death by:
His Mother and Father, Vonda Lee and Clayton George Curtis. Former wives Jaralee Curtis and Tina Marie Curtis.
