Dennis Dement, of Farmington, entered eternal rest on February 26, 2026, at Parkland Health Center at the age of 70. A strong, hardworking, and faith devoted man, Dennis lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his work, and his Lord. He was born on June 3, 1955, at home in Ellington, Missouri, to the late Buel and Etta Mae (Fox) Dement.
Dennis is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia Dement; his children, Greg Dement (Crystal) and Mike Dement (Sarah); his grandchildren, Tristan Stotler (Juliana) and Megan LaBrot (Gunner); and a precious great granddaughter, Brinlee Mae, who is eagerly awaited and already deeply loved. He is also survived by his siblings, Dr. Oman Eugene Dement (Joyce), Joyce Clement (Jim), Carl Dement (Barb), Janet Morgan (Rev. Tim), Kathy Romine (Gary), Ronnie Dement (Denise), and Rev. Rick Dement (Jamie); his mother-in-law, Bonnie Pratt; his sister-in-law, Paula Waltman; and his brother-in-law, Dave Hasty (Kathy); as well as many nieces, nephews, and special friends who will cherish his memory.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Dement; his father-in-law, Bill Pratt; his mother-in-law, Sarah Pratt; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Hasty.
Dennis was a faithful member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Farmington for 50 years, where his steadfast faith and commitment to his church family were cornerstones of his life. He began working at an early age in the forestry business, where he developed the strong work ethic for which he was known. Later, he founded Dement Trucking and was instrumental in establishing Dement Farms alongside his two sons and grandsons, building a legacy of hard work and family partnership.
Dennis found great joy in the outdoors. He enjoyed riding his John Deere Gator, checking his cattle, and spending time on the farm. He was known for his love of simple pleasures, especially ice cream and Little Debbies, which brought a smile to his face and those around him. Dennis will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his tireless dedication, and the deep love he had for his family.
A visitation will be held at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Farmington on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at the church on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Reverend Roger Hogan.
