Dennis Marion Dixon was born December 29th, 1941, to Loren and Oval (Mitchell) Dixon in Toledo, Oregon. Denis spent his childhood growing up in Alsea, Oregon. He was the second of four brothers. Playing sports was a large part of Dennis' life and he passed down that passion to his children and grandchildren. When he wasn't playing ball, you could find him somewhere along the Alsea River fishing or in the hills hunting. Dennis loved the outdoors.

In 1964 Dennis was drafted into the US Army. He served two years in the Vietnam War.

A major part of Dennis' career was spent logging. He retired from Evanite in Corvallis, Oregon.

On May 18th, 1968, Dennis married Helen Robinson. Helen passed away February 7th, 2015.

Dennis leaves behind five children, Wendy Holland, Kristy Blodgett, Scott (Kathy) Dixon, Angie Dixon, and Craig Dixon. He has eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Floyd Dixon and his wife Linda, sister-in-law Joanne Dixon, and many nieces and nephews. His brothers Larry (Sharon) and Lloyd Dixon proceeded him in death.

Dennis was a gentle soul. He would do anything for anyone. He would give you his last dime even if it meant he would go without. His passion for the great outdoors was passed down to his family members. He loved cooking and was very good at it. One thing he will always be remembered for is his story telling. He was the best storyteller! He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
