Charles Walter Dixon, a beloved member of the community, passed away on March 6, 2026, at the age of 67 in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on August 30, 1958, in Hyden, Kentucky, Charles was known for his friendly and reserved personality, which endeared him to many throughout his life.
Charles enjoyed a variety of hobbies that brought him joy, including coon hunting, fishing, and riding horses. These activities not only provided him with an outlet for his adventurous spirit but also allowed him to connect with nature and forge lasting memories with friends and family.
He is survived by his uncle, Harold Pace, and Ruth, of Young Harris, Georgia, as well as two step-children, Travis Ward and Carissa Johnson. Charles’s life touched the hearts of a host of cousins, relatives, and friends, who will remember him for his warm demeanor and gentle nature.
Charles was predeceased by his parents, Harold Dixon and Dorothy Gayle Pace Dixon, and his beloved wife, Gloria Burkhart. Their memories will forever be cherished, and their legacy lives on through the lives he affected.
As we remember Charles Walter Dixon, we celebrate a life dedicated to friendship, family, and passion for the outdoors. His spirit will continue to resonate within the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A graveside service for Mr. Charles Walter Dixon will be held at a later date at the Dixon Family Cemetery with Larry Hendrix officiating.
