Ruth Turner Wells, cherished homemaker and beloved community member, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Hazard ARH Medical Center in Hazard, Kentucky. She was 64 years old. Born on March 23, 1961, in Leslie County, Kentucky, Ruth filled her life with love and service to her family and friends, embodying the spirit of a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Ruth dedicated herself to her family, nurturing a warm and loving home. She was a proud mother to two sons, Arthur Wells and his wife Heather, and Josh Wells. Her life was enriched by her grandsons, Wilson Wells, Lindsey Wells, William Wells, and Bentley Wells, who brought her immense joy. The light of her life shone even brighter with the arrival of great-granddaughters, Sophia Wells and Madilyn Wells, who were a source of pride and happiness.
A lifelong member of the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ at Smilax, Kentucky, Ruth found solace and strength in her faith, which guided her through all of life's challenges. Her commitment to her beliefs and her community reflected her deep values and the love she held for those around her.
In addition to her family, Ruth had a passion for flower gardening and cooking, hobbies that she shared generously with her loved ones. She enjoyed spending time with her family, creating cherished memories that will live on in their hearts.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband, William Wells, as well as her parents, Arthur Turner and Lula M. Wells Turner. Also a host of brothers and sisters. As we remember Ruth Turner Wells, let us celebrate her life—a life filled with love, laughter, and joy. Her spirit will continue to blossom in the hearts of all who knew her.
