Dennis Evans

Dennis Evans, a beloved member of his community and dedicated family man, passed away on November 12, 2025, in Port Jefferson, New York, at the age of 78. Born on September 16, 1947, in Rockville Centre, New York, Dennis dedicated much of his life to serving others both through his work and his extensive volunteer efforts.

Having built a successful career in microelectronics at BAE Systems, Dennis was respected for his expertise and commitment to his profession. However, it was his longstanding dedication to public service that truly defined him. As a proud 53-year member and past captain of the Ridge Fire Department, Dennis exemplified bravery, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the safety and wellbeing of his community.

Dennis is survived by his cherished family: his sons, Jason Evans and Chaz Evans; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Evans; granddaughter, Kaitlin Mele; brother, Cliff Evans; and sister-in-law, Denise Evans. Each of them carries forward his legacy of love, support, and compassion.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cynthia Evans. Dennis's passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation scheduled for November 14, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM at the Mangano Family Funeral Home of Middle Island, located at 640 Middle Country Rd, Middle Island, NY 11953. A prayer service will be held that evening at 8:00 PM, with an additional prayer service taking place on November 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM, concluding with burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Coram at 11:45 AM.

Dennis Evans will be remembered for his kind heart, dedication to service, and the profound impact he made on his family and community. His spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
