Dennis "Denny" Lee Foreman, 75, of Indianapolis, passed peacefully from this life in the early morning hours of Wednesday, February 19, 2025, while in the comfort of his home. He was born in Indianapolis, on September 22, 1949, to the late Thomas and Lorene (Haywood) Foreman.
The oldest of three, and protective big brother, Denny graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1967 and proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force. Upon his honorable discharge from his duties, he secured employment with Indiana Bell, now known as AT&T. Through this endeavor is how he met his soulmate, Janeen. While installing a phone line in her home, he left her a note saying he saved her $5 and to give him a call. She did and the couple were happily united in marriage on September 16, 1978.
The father of four girls, Denny and Janeen enjoyed taking trips to theme parks. Directionally challenged, he frequently got lost and once ended up at an Indian Campground on their way to Opry Land and decided to stay. A devoted patriarch, he taught his daughters to be strong and independent, telling them they could do anything boys could do. A giving and loving soul, he loved to cheer his grandkids on from the stands at all their sporting events.
After the passing of his beloved wife Janeen in 2017, Denny found companionship with Martha Bowman, who brought joy back into his life. A talented pool player, he was a member of the APA Pool League for ten years, participating in over a thousand matches, and traveled to Las Vegas playing in multiple championships. An auction aficionado, Denny spent his free time bidding on items and winning the bid, purchasing ridiculous amounts of stuff.
A hard worker with a strong work ethic, Denny gave 100% to all things in life. He was a fantastic storyteller, captivating his audience and embellished each tale as he went. He took deep pride in his lawn, and it was a must that it was mowed in a very certain way. A huge IU fan, Denny was also a master at woodworking. Honest to the core and stubborn at times, he never knew a stranger and was known to strike up a conversation with anyone he crossed paths with. A truly good man, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Along with his parents, Denny was preceded in death by his wife, Janeen Foreman; granddaughter, Estella Souders; and brother, Mike Foreman.
He leaves behind his companion, Martha Bowman of Brownsburg; daughters, Kimberly Foreman of Indianapolis, Jennifer Tighe of Missouri, Rebecca White of Camby, and Stephanie Lee (#favoritechild)) of Mooresville; sister, Debbie Gilmore of Brownsburg; along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
