Dennis (Denny) Lee Futscher, age 81 of Hanford CA, passed away on January 13, 2024.

Denny was born December 31, 1942 in Norwalk, CA, the middle child and only son of Nellie Grace and Newton Anthony. Denny graduated from Excelsior High School in 1961, after which he joined the United States Navy as an Avionics Technician. Denny retired from the Navy after 30 honorable years of service to our nation. After a brief stint between jobs, Denny again donned a uniform, this time as a California Correctional Officer, where he spent a further 15 years in public service. He finally retired where he spent his remaining years with his family and affectionately became known as Papa to his 4 grandchildren.

Denny was preceded to Heaven by his Father Newton, mother Nellie and Sister, Alice Kay. He is survived by his wife Nancy; his ex-wife Jackie; and their children: Andy Futscher and wife Perla and Carrie Lewis and her husband Walter; 4 Grandchildren: Carter and Bailee Costa and Marisa and Isabel Futscher; sister: Tamara Sinquefield, as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. The family is also grateful to Evelyn and Maria, Denny's caregivers the past few years.

Although we lost a dad, a papa, many lost a close friend. A master of quick wit and a plethora of dad jokes, Denny's sense of humor will probably be the thing we miss most. Please join the family on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 10am for viewing and visitation followed by services at 11am. Services will be held at Armona United Methodist Church followed by graveside services at Calvary Cemetery in Hanford, CA.
