Dennis R. Greminger Sr., age 73, of
Maynardville, Tennessee suddenly passed away on Friday,
December 5 th , 2025, from injuries sustained in an accident. He entered heaven while
surrounded by his four children and their mother at the University of Tennessee Hospital, held
close by the love of his family.
Born in Moorehead, Minnesota on September 28 th , 1952, Dennis lived in many places, settling
in Lockport, Illinois to raise his family. Later he retired and enjoyed life the way he wanted to in
rural
Maynardville, Tennessee.
Dennis was a proud U.S. Army veteran and a skilled welder by trade, retiring from Caterpillar in
Joliet, Illinois after a long and dedicated career. A true hard worker, he took pride in doing
things the right way, and his strong work ethic shaped every chapter of his life. His hands were
rarely still-whether he was working, building, or creating, he put care and craftsmanship into
everything he touched.
Dennis loved music, especially The Beatles, woodworking, and the outdoors. He had a generous
heart that led him to help people whenever he could, especially children. He also had a deep
love for animals, finding comfort and companionship in their presence throughout his life. He
loved to laugh. Above all else, he loved his children and grandchildren, who were the true pride
and joy of his days. He raised his three girls to be strong and independent, and he taught his
son everything he knew. You can see a part of his personality and who he was in each of them.
To know Dennis was to love him. He made friends everywhere he went and those friends
became family.
Dad, our hearts are broken, but we know that when the night is cloudy, there is still a light that
shines on us and that light is you. Dad, we'll see you on the other side.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Amanda Greminger. His siblings,
Robert, Dale, David, and Gerald Greminger, and Pamela Michniewicz. His beloved grandson,
Nathan Wolf.
He is survived by his adoring children: Jessica Kawa, Konstantina Wolf, Dennis Greminger Jr. and
Tiffany Thompson (Tase), and their mother, Mary Greminger, as well as his cherished
grandchildren, Nolan Wolf, Liliana Kawa, Olivine and Asher Thompson. Also survived by his
brother Eugene Greminger and many cherished nieces and nephews. Son-in-law, Shannon
Wolf. His best Tennessee friends, Tim Buckner and Dalton Hensley. And his three faithful dogs,
Buddy, Patty, and Lady.
In place of gifts to the family, donations made in his name to your local toy drive or animal
shelter would be a meaningful way to honor him
.
Cremation rites were accorded, and the family will hold a celebration of his life at a later date.
