Dennis Hammel Obituary
A memorial graveside service will be held in Maywood Cemetery in Maywood, Nebraska at a later date.
Dennis Duane, son of Kenneth and Shirley (White) Hammel, was born on December 7, 1950, in McCook, Nebraska. Denny's family moved to Oregon where he grew up and graduated from high school.
After high school, Denny moved back to Nebraska to help his grandfather farm. After his grandfather's passing, Denny worked on the railroad and later for AGP in Eagle Grove for a few years before working for Wright County. After almost 20 years working for the county, Denny retired March of 2016.
Over the years, Denny enjoyed hunting, especially pheasant hunting, and mowing and taking care of his lawn. He also loved cheering for Nebraska football.
Denny is survived by his son Patrick (Dana) Hammel of Bloomfield; grandson Aiden; granddaughters Celeste and Mia; brother Doug Hammel of Clarion; and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Shirley Hammel; and many aunts and uncles.
